Ceylon Estate Staffs’ Union (CESU)
CESU represents estate staff workers in Sri Lanka. An overwhelming majority of estate staff workers in the country are members of the CESU. The trade union is over 90 years old and it is respected by many for its democratic traditions.
Ceylon Federation of Trade Unions (CFTU)
A general trade union federation representing workers from various sectors such as industries, commerce, plantations, state corporations, etc. The union federation is affiliated to the Communist Party of Sri Lanka.

Ceylon Tamil Teachers Union (CTTU)
CTTU represents Tamil teachers in the country. The majority of its members hail from the North and Eastern provinces. It is the single largest Tamil teacher union in the country. Its membership primarily consists of teachers, principals, teacher educators, and education administrators.
Free Trade Zone and General Services Employees Union (FTZ & GSEU)
It has a strong presence in Sri Lankan EPZs and in the apparel sector. It also represents workers in the general services category. The majority of its membership consists of young female workers and the union has been in the forefront of many trade union struggles in the recent past.
Government Nursing Officers Association (GNOA)
It represents government-nursing officers from all parts of the country. The union is involved in issues dealing with the career development and rights of nurses in Sri Lanka. It has waged many campaigns in this regard.
Health Sector Trade Union Alliance (HSTUA)
It is the largest trade union alliance in the government health sector. It has 34 affiliate trade unions in its fold. The alliance emerged as a result of a joint trade union struggle launched by health sector unions in 2003.

National Association for Trade Union Research and Education (NATURE)
NATURE was founded in 1998 and is an umbrella body of 19 trade unions. It promotes an integrated approach to trade union education and research and encourages the acquisition and diffusion of knowledge among trade unions and their members.
Sri Lanka Nidahas Rajaye Vurthiya Samithi Sammelanaya (SLNRVSS)
It is a public sector trade union federation. It draws its membership from various sectors of the public service. The union federation is affiliated to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

Sri Lanka Nidahas Sewaka Sangamaya (SLNSS)
It is a general trade union federation. It represents workers from various sectors such as state enterprises, co-operatives, plantations, private sector, etc. The SLNSS is affiliated to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
