Colombo College of Politics (CCP)
FES Sri Lanka supports the Colombo College of Politics in their courses on Governance, Democratization and Public Policy. The three month certificate course followed by a three month diploma course has been conducted successfully since 2008, with around 150 students having completed the course in 2011. The course aims to equip young political leaders with knowledge of democracy and political management as well as core values of human dignity, empathy, rule of law, responsibility and transparency.
The Colombo School of Politics was established in 2006 with the aim of strengthening democracy for the stabilization of the state and society, good governance and sustainable development. CCP conducts courses for young political leaders, equips them with understanding of new technology and knowledge about trends in the Globalization process. FES supports CCP in conducting courses on Governance, Democratization and Public Policy.
Center for Poverty Analysis (CEPA)
The Centre for Poverty Analysis (CEPA) was established in May 2001 as an independent think-tank promoting a better understanding of poverty related development issues. By providing independent analysis of poverty, it contributes to policy dialogue and influences the mainstream development discourse. FES supports CEPA in running the internet-based Poverty Portal, thus making comprehensive information on poverty easily accessible to practitioners and researchers, enabling them to set up policies and practices that will include the poor. The Poverty Portal has a variety of innovative and interactive features.
Institute of Policy of Sri Lanka (IPS)

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is a research institution that publishes extensively on a variety of topics to inform policy making. IPS was established by an Act of Parliament in December 1988 as an autonomous institution with the aim to contribute to the economic development of a democratic Sri Lanka and enhance the quality of life of its people by promoting policy-oriented economic research and strengthening the capacity for medium-term policy analysis in Sri Lanka.
FES in collaboration with IPS has conducted two major regional conferences: In 2010, the conference on "Policy Priorities for Foreign Aid Reforms in South Asia", and in November 2011, the regional conference "Migration, Remittances and Development Nexus in South Asia".
Lanka Agriculturists Association (LAA)
Lanka Agriculturists Association (LLA) organizes Community Development Workshops and Workshops on Strengthening Workers Rights in the Plantation Sector as well as Leadership Trainings for Plantation Youth. LAA was inaugurated in the year of 1978 by 21 members from plantation and rural areas in Nuwara Eliya. Its aim is to enlighten the plantation community and rural sectors for better integration of farmers and CWC.

Lankan Youth Organisation Network (LYON)
Lanka Youth Organisation Network (LYON), founded in 2006, is an umbrella body of youth organisations throughout the island. Its membership is drawn from local youth circles, from independent CBOs and NGOs as well as from the National Youth Service Council. LYON is a member of the Steering Committee on National Youth Policy that is organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development. LYON is an important advocate for youth rights in the drafting a National Youth Policy.

Power Foundation (PF)
The Power Foundation in Badulla was established in 1986 to assist plantation workers in the impoverished Hill Country. It concentrates its efforts and resources to improve the standard of living of the plantation community. It is committed to innovative, interactive and participatory development in helping the poor Plantation and rural communities in overcoming poverty and challenges of discrimination and marginalization. Power Foundation organizes with the support of FES several certificate courses for female and young community workers on Social Service and workshops on the Rights of Woman and Girls.

Point Pedro Institute of Development (PPID)

Point Pedro Institute of Development (PPID) a non-profit research institution that was established in 2004, named after the northern-most town in Sri Lanka. The organization was founded in order to resurrect the knowledge and intellectual bases of the Eastern and Northern Provinces. The primary objective of the PPID is to empower the people of these regions to emerge out of serfdom towards freedom. The core value of the organization is equality of opportunity irrespective of one’s caste, class, ethnicity, gender, regional origin, or religion. PPID conducts economic and social research and publishes extensively on various topics. It also works with communities to rebuild local knowledge.

PPID has conducted two Open Fora with FES in 2010 and 2011.
Social, Economic & Environmental Development Organization (SEEDO)
SEEDO was established in 1997 in the district of Monaragala in Uva province with the mission is to create a society in which disadvantaged people belonging to different ethnic groups can live in peace and harmony while preserving their ethnic identities. The primary goal of the organization is to recognize and respect equality as well as to improve the living standards of rural and estate communities emphasizing on women, children and youth.
FES supports SEEDO in their efforts to create awareness among farmers, workers, youth and women in both rural and estate sectors and enable them to safeguard their rights and interests. Together with FES the organization has developed Knowledge Transformation Programme for Young Leaders and have trained Capacity Building for Youth and Women.
Sri Lanka Economic Association (SLEA)
The Sri Lanka Economic Association (SLEA) is a professional association of economists with over 600 members drawn from academia, government, private sector, research institutions, and NGOs in Sri Lanka . It was set up in the year 1985 and incorporated in 2011 by Act of Parliament. The primary goal of SLEA is to provide a forum for discussion and dissemination of knowledge on economic issues of topical relevance facing the Sri Lankan and global economy. SLEA undertakes and facilitates studies in the field of economics, arranges teaching and trainers programmes and submits reports on issues relating to economic and social development.
FES in co-operation with SLEA organizes Open Fora on selected economic topics since 2011.

Sri Lanka Foundation Institute (SLFI)
The Sri Lanka Foundation Institute was established as a Statutory Body with the patronage of Friedrich Ebert Foundation of Germany under the purview of the Presidential Secretariat, Act No.31 of 1973.
SLFI aims to promote Democracy, Human Rights, Good Governance, Peace and Social Progress through capacity building for public servants and civil society and community organizations. Its areas of training and education include labour relations, gender equity, community development, grass roots leadership, good governance, disaster management, environment and health.
With the support of FES, SLFI conducts a number of trainings every year, namely on Conflict Resolution in the work place, Good Governance through Service Excellence, and Participation of Women in Decision Making.

Social Policy Analysis and Research Center (SPARC)
The Social Policy Analysis and Research Centre (SPARC) of the Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo, provides a focal point to integrate research, teaching, training, policy analysis and advocacy on critical areas of social and economic development. Established in 2000, SPARC facilitates close collaboration between academics and institutions outside of the university system, including governmental as well as non-governmental agencies that are dealing with issues related to social policy.
With the support of FES and other organisations SPARC conducted a National Youth survey in 2002 that was repeated in 2010. In conjunction with LYON, several workshops about National Youth policy - Joining Science, Government and Politics have been held in 2011 to discuss and supllement the findings of the survey.
Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL)
Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) is a National Chapter of Transparency International (TI), the leading global movement against corruption. TISL raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it. Its mission is to lead and support the collective effort to enhance integrity and eradicate corruption by generating knowledge and stimulating action.
In 2011 in collaboration with FES developed a resource book and a toolkit (Corruption Fighters’ Tool Kit) in investigative journalism aimed at strengthening professionalism in Sri Lankan investigative journalism, both at the national and regional level. The resource book and the toolkit will be the first ever products in investigative journalism to be developed in Sri Lanka and are specially designed to cater to the local industry requirements.

Women for Peace and Good Governance
The Women for Peace and Good Governance (WPGG) a nongovernmental, non-profit organization, was founded in 2007 by a group of women academics, researchers and activists to create a gender just society. It is based in Kandy, Sri Lanka, and works to improve the status of women and youth in society through its various community programmes. Since its inception, FES has conducted workshops with WPGG with the aim of facilitating women’s participation in politics.
