FES Open Forum
The FES Open Forum is a platform for public debate and knowledge sharing on issues of public interest. Since 2009, 15 Open Fora have been held in conjunction with local partners. The Open Forum provides an opportunity for experts and practitioners to share their knowledge and experiences with a broader audience. Open Fora contributes to stimulating public debate and provide space for free exchange of opinions.

Sri Lanka has a highly skewed geographical distribution of GDP, with around 50 % of the country’s GDP originating in the Western Province. This leads to social and economic disparities that can lead to social tensions and to problems of governance. The Open Forum is jointly organized by Sri Lanka Economist Association and FES.
